Wakefield Children’s Author, Mary’Beth Brady-Buckley, Releases First Book to Help Children Find “The Silver Lining” in Difficult Times

WAKEFIELD, MASS. – Grandparents, parents and children will be inspired when they read “The Silver Lining,” the first picture book written and self-published by Mary’Beth Brady-Buckley about the relationship between grandchildren, grandparents and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The story focuses on creating happy memories even during this “crazy” time with the help of characters Nana and Gampie, who turn what’s initially confusing and scary for their grandchildren into a fun-filled learning adventure.

Written for children age three to seven and told in simple rhyme, the story helps children better understand how to find fun, compassion and resilience even in the face of uncertainty. The book includes a page with a list of Nana and Gampie’s old-fashioned words and their definitions, as well as a page for readers to share a favorite memory from this time.

“This year has been chaotic,” Brady-Buckley admits. “But even in this challenging time, we’ve still been able to create special connections and memories. ‘The Silver Lining’ celebrates the positive aspects and outcomes of the year we stayed home, slowed down and made time for those who hold a special place in our hearts.”

“The Silver Lining” is available on Amazon.com in hardcover at https://www.amazon.com/Silver-Lining-Marybeth-Brady-Buckley/dp/1734888407.
